Spareblocks.com was created after I met with considerable frustration in obtaining relatively common pieces of replacement parts to restore my Lego collection. The parts that were available online were invariably very expensive and many of the stockists had very limited product ranges. As my Lego was not new, I would have been pleased to have had the opportunity to purchase used parts to replace those I was missing, but no such retailer existed. With my own sets incomplete, I instead opted to break them down and try to create the kind of site I wanted so long to find online for myself.

Spareblocks.com has been developed and run in my spare time – my spare time is currently running at around 8 hours a day! Spareblocks.com presently runs at a loss, but I am working hard to increase the product range over the coming years in the hope that it will become self funding and can continue to grow and provide the service it was originally designed to fulfill – a convenient, enjoyable and affordably priced website resource for replacement Lego parts.

I am turned forty and have had a love for Lego since the time I was bought a London Bus kit in 1974. Not unlike those of us lucky enough to have been brought up with Lego from a young age, I have made accomplishments academically and professionally in technical areas – I am a Chartered Builder, A Chartered Architectural Technologist and I hold a degree in architecture, and a masters degree in construction project management. Lego has played a considerable part in my own personal development, and because of my affinity with the product, I gain a great deal of pleasure from providing this service.
